A local Chicago News station is getting roasted online for appearing to confuse Asian-themed chain restaurant P.F. Chang’s with the 2018 Olympics host city, PyeongChang, South Korea.
While WLS-TV weekend anchor Mark Rivera delivered a report on the political climate surrounding this year’s Winter Games on Saturday, the ABC affiliate mistakenly ran a graphic that read “P.F. Chang 2018” behind him. The Internet, of course, quickly latched onto the error.
A state of emergency has been declared in Papua New Guinea’s capital amid deadly riots which have reportedly killed at least 16 people.
The state of emergency, which will last 14 days, was declared Thursday by Prime Minister James Marape, who also announced that the Pacific Island nation’s Chief of Police, David Manning, had been suspended along with other top bureaucrats across the finance and treasury departments amid a probe into the unrest that began with a payroll dispute by police and other public servants.
Officials of the Edo State Police command have arrested 11 people including four state government officials suspected to be leaders of different cult groups in the state.
The arrests were made barely 24 hours after the Inspector General of Police, Mr Solomon Arase, deployed a special squad to the state to tackle the increased cases of cultism, kidnapping, robbery and other related crimes.
The police team led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Federal Special Anti-robbery Squad, (FEDSARS), Chris Ezike, stormed the hideout of the cultists few hours after arriving Benin City.
